R.D. Call

'R.D. Call' (qv) is an American actor, best known for his roles in films by 'Walter Hill' (qv). He was born and raised in Utah and attended the Utah State University and Weber State University. Call moved to Los Angeles in 1976 and began training with 'Lee Strasberg' (qv). His first role was in _Barnaby Jones (1973)_ (qv), a TV series directed by 'Leo Penn' (qv).Call then took roles in the 'Walter Hill' (qv) films _48 Hrs. (1982)_ (qv) and _Brewster's Millions (1985)_ (qv). Next came _At Close Range (1986)_ (qv) opposite 'Sean Penn' (qv) and the 'Charlie Sheen' (qv) thriller _No Man's Land (1987)_ (qv). 'Dennis Hopper' (qv) cast him in Hopper's thriller _Colors (1988)_ (qv), again opposite 'Sean Penn' (qv), and he would work with Leo and 'Sean Penn' (qv) - and 'Martin Sheen' (qv) - in _Judgement in Berlin (1988)_ (qv).Towards the end of the 1980s, roles included 'Michael Mann' (qv)'s _L.A. Takedown (1989)_ (qv) - the original version of Mann's _Heat (1995)_ (qv) - and a cameo appearance in 'Oliver Stone' (qv)'s _Born on the Fourth of July (1989)_ (qv). Call appeared opposite 'Emilio Estevez' (qv) and 'Kiefer Sutherland' (qv) in _Young Guns II (1990)_ (qv) and was back with 'Sean Penn' (qv) in _State of Grace (1990)_ (qv), conveying a close working relationship with both the Penn and Sheen family.The mid-1990s were equally kind to Call, with roles in _Waterworld (1995)_ (qv) and 'Walter Hill' (qv)'s _Last Man Standing (1996)_ (qv) in which he starred with 'Bruce Willis' (qv).
