Amit Sanouria

Amit Sanouria is an Indian theatre artist, actor, and filmmaker known for his contributions to Indian theatre and films as an actor and director. He graduated from the Madhya Pradesh School of Drama in Bhopal, specializing in acting. Additionally, he holds a degree in filmmaking from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. Amit Sanouria made his debut on stage in 2007, and since then, he has been actively involved in the theatre scene. As an actor, he has showcased his talent in approximately 35 plays, captivating audiences with his performances. Furthermore, he has directed 23 play productions, displaying his skills as a versatile theatre practitioner. Later on, Amit Sanouria went on to establish a Chandigarh-based theatre group named Satvik Arts, aiming to promote and showcase the art of theatre in the region. Through this group, he has continued to contribute to the growth and development of the theatrical community. In addition to his accomplishments in theatre, Amit Sanouria ventured into the world of filmmaking. He made his directorial debut with the short film titled "Pencil Box" in 2019. This film garnered significant recognition, receiving sixteen national and international awards. Notably, it was also honored with a special jury mention award at the 10th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival in 2020, further establishing Amit Sanouria as a talented filmmaker. Continuing his journey as a filmmaker, in 2022, Amit Sanouria wrote and directed a Punjabi feature film titled "Razaa." This film, too, garnered acclaim and went on to receive various prestigious national and international awards, further solidifying Amit Sanouria's reputation as a skilled filmmaker. With his multifaceted talents and artistic contributions, Amit Sanouria has made a significant impact on the Indian theatre and film industry. He continues to inspire and entertain audiences with his creative endeavors, leaving a lasting impression on the artistic landscape.
