Ian MacKaye

'Ian MacKaye' (qv) formed the Washington, D.C. band Fugazi with 'Brendan Canty' (qv) and 'Joe Lally' (qv) and 'Guy Picciotto' (qv) in 1987. Before that, he was a member of Egg Hunt, Embrace, 'Minor Threat' (qv), Skewbald/ Grand Union, and Teen Idles. Ian created "Dischord Records" in 1980 to document the music coming out of the Washington, D.C. punk community. In 1998, Dischord released a film by 'Jem Cohen' (qv) called _Instrument (1999)_ (qv) which compounds ten years of various Fugazi studio and tour documentary footage.::Robb Hand
