Jackie Burroughs

'Jackie Burroughs' (qv) was born February 2, 1939 in Lancashire, England, UK. She acted in live theatre at Ontario's Stratford Festival before she made her film debut appearance in _The Ernie Game (1967)_ (qv), she went on to act in several other films which include _The Grey Fox (1982)_ (qv) a performance that earned her a Genie, and _The Dead Zone (1983)_ (qv). Jackie's television credits include the roles of Mrs. Amelia Evans in _Anne of Green Gables (1985)_ (qv) and Hetty King in _Avonlea (1990)_ (qv), a role that earned her three Geminis. With several film and television performances under her belt, we should acknowledge her work in a _Ich atme mit dem Herzen (1987)_ (qv) a film in which Jackie produced, directed, co-wrote, and starred in, for her work in the film she earned her third Genie, and we mustn't forget her spellbinding and emotional gripping performance in _Lost and Delirious (2001)_ (qv). Jackie died in Toronto at home, with close friends and family beside her on the afternoon of Wednesday, September 22, 2010. She was survived by her daughter Zoe Yanovsky and her partner Greg Ball; two grandsons Max the Pearl and Henry Zalman; their babba Anna; her brother Gary, his wife Sarah and daughters Josie and Alex along with their children; her goddaughter Maggie.::tony.r.vario@gmail.com
