Luca Calvani

Born in Tuscany, Italy 'Luca Calvani' (qv) studied textile engineering and moved to Milan and then New York to complete his education.While in school Luca worked as a model with some of the top brands, including Giorgio Armani.While in New York City, a photographer turned screenwriter/director 'Kelley Sane' (qv) pointed him to acting introducing him to Ron Stetson where he studied for two years. He later trained with Susan Batson and attended sessions at the Actor's Studio.His American debut ,the HBO series _Sex and the City (1998)_ (qv), where he starred opposite 'Alan Cumming' (qv) and 'Sarah Jessica Parker' (qv).In Europe, 'Ferzan Ozpetek' (qv) award-winning _His Secret Life (2001)_ (qv) aka "Le Fate Ignoranti."Between 2001 and 2012 he worked on on CBS TV's daytime drama _As the World Turns (1956)_ (qv), _Il commissario Manara (2008)_ (qv) directed by 'Davide Marengo' (qv), on _Tutti pazzi per amore (2008)_ (qv) directed by 'Riccardo Milani' (qv), _Married to a Cop (2007)_ (qv), _Sposami (2012)_ (qv) and _Una buona stagione (2014)_ (qv). All series aired on Rai Uno network.Also for RaiUno, Luca hosted prime-time talk show _Effetto sabato (2008)_ (qv).Among his film credits, 'Fausto Brizzi' (qv)'s, _Kusswechsel 2 - Gegensätze ziehen sich aus (2010)_ (qv) 'Tom Tykwer' (qv)'s action thriller _The International (2009)_ (qv), 'Woody Allen' (qv)'s _To Rome With Love (2012)_ (qv), 'Mark Steven Johnson' (qv)'s _When in Rome (2009)_ (qv) and the indie feature _The Good Guy (2009)_ (qv) directed by 'Julio DePietro' (qv).In September 2013 he joined 'Henry Cavill' (qv), 'Armie Hammer' (qv), 'Alicia Vikander' (qv) and screen wife 'Elizabeth Debicki' (qv) when he was cast by 'Guy Ritchie' (qv) as villainous Alexander Vinciguerra.
