Vijay Kumar (Jeetendra) is an orphan brought up by an Advocate, Chaudhary Kailash Nath (Kader Khan) and becomes a lawyer himself. He is in love with Sadhana (Sridevi), Kailash Nath's daughter and they get married. Vijay wants to stand on his own feet, but is discouraged by his wife and father-in-law. He is humiliated on many occasions. One day suddenly Sandhya (Jaya Prada) enters their life and Vijay is willing to walk out of the marriage to support Sandhya.
